Clip­pers rally past Nuggets for 2-1 se­ries lead

Paul Ge­orge scored 32 points, Kawhi Leonard added 23 with 14 re­bounds, six as­sists and two blocks, in­clud­ing one late on a dunk at­tempt by Ja­mal Mur­ray, and the dy­namic duo helped the Clip­pers rally in the fourth quar­ter for a 113-107 win and a 2-1 se­ries lead over the Nuggets in the Western Con­fer­ence semifinals.

Clip­pers coach Doc Rivers called a time­out to calm down his team trail­ing 97-90 with 8:29 left. Fu­eled by de­fense, it went on a 14-4 run to take a 104-101 lead and never trailed again.

▶ Jaylen Brown scored 27 points and the Celtics never trailed, rolling past the Rap­tors 11189 in Game 5 of their East­ern Con­fer­ence semi­fi­nal se­ries to take a 3-2 lead. Boston’s starters outscored Toronto’s by a whop­ping 93-45.
