-

Guard Coby White was part of the NBA’s All-Rookie second team announced Tuesday, making him the 23rd Bull to make an all-rookie team and the first since forward/center Lauri Markkanen made the first team two years ago.

White, drafted seventh overall in 2019, was the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for February before the coronavirus pandemic shut down NBA play and ended the Bulls’ season. Over 65 games, he averaged 13.2 points (sixth among qualifying rookies), 3.5 rebounds (tied for 12th) and 2.7 assists (fourth). He was also second among rookies with a .791 percentage from the free-throw line.

Jamal Murray scored 40 points and Nikola Jokic had a triple-double by the third quarter as the Nuggets again overcame a double-digit deficit to shock the Clippers 104-89 in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals, advancing to the conference finals for the first time since 2009. They became the first team in NBA history and the third in U.S. major pro sports to rally from a 3-1 series deficit twice in the same postseason. Jokic finished with 16 points, 13 assists and 22 rebounds.

Jimmy Butler put the Heat ahead with a threepoint play with 12 seconds left in overtime and Bam Adebayo blocked Jayson Tatum’s dunk attempt in the final seconds as the Heat overcame the Celtics 117-114 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

The Raptors announced a multiyear extension for coach Nick Nurse without divulging terms.
