Seahawks topple Cards

-

Russell Wilson threw for two touchdowns and Carlos Hyde ran for another, and the Seahawks broke a three- way tie for the lead atop the NFC West with a 28- 21 victory Thursday against the Cardinals in Seattle.

The result lifted the Seahawks ( 7- 3) a halfgame ahead of the Rams ( 6- 3) and a game ahead of the Cardinals ( 6- 4) in the division.

Kyler Murray, who threw a Hail Mary touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins in the final seconds to lift the Cardinals past the Bills on Sunday, wasn’t able to deliver similar heroics against the Seahawks.

Murray passed for 269 yards and two touchdowns, but he was sacked by defensive end Carlos Dunlap on fourth- and- 10 from the Seahawks’ 27 with 34 seconds left to end the Cardinals’ last chance.

Browns’ Garrett still out

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett, who leads the NFL with 9oe sacks, remained isolated from his teammates for a second consecutive day, but the team expects him to return Friday and play Sunday against the Eagles.

Garrett has stayed at home the last two days after not feeling well. As long as his next COVID- 19 test comes back negative, however, he will be allowed back at the Browns’ facility and be permitted to practice.

The Browns are also without starting right tackle Jack Conklin and kicker Cody Parkey as they get ready to play the Eagles. Both went on the COVID- 19 list Wednesday.

The Eagles, meanwhile, put receivers J. J. Arcega- Whiteside and John Hightower, running back Corey Clement and defensive end Vinny Curry on the COVID- 19 list.

† In other Eagles news, NFL. com reported the team is expected to sign former Bears running back Jordan Howard to the practice squad after he clears COVID- 19 protocols. Howard, who played for the Eagles last season after playing for the Bears in 2016- 18, was cut Tuesday by the Dolphins.

Lions RB Swift has concussion

Lions rookie running back D’Andre Swift didn’t practice because of a concussion, leaving his status for the team’s game Sunday against the Panthers in doubt.

It’s not clear when Swift, who is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, suffered the injury. He wasn’t listed on the Lions’ injury report Wednesday and spoke with the media after practice.

Swift was coming off the first start of his career Sunday against Washington. He rushed for 81 yards on 16 carries and caught five passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.

More injuries

The Jaguars put rookie cornerback CJ Henderson on injured reserve with a groin injury, creating a huge hole in their secondary days before they host the unbeaten Steelers on Sunday. The move to injured reserve means Henderson is required to miss a minimum of three games.

† Jets coach Adam Gase confirmed cornerback Brian Poole needs surgery on his injured shoulder and will be out the rest of the season. The Jets put Poole on injured reserve Tuesday after he hurt the shoulder in a game Nov. 9 against the Patriots.
