BEARS CHANGE GAME PLAN, SIGN DALTON AS NO. 1 QB

After Wilson trade talks crumble with Seahawks, Bears change course and sign veteran Dalton as No. 1 QB

ESPN, citing a source it didn’t identify, reported the Patriots are signing former Chargers tight end Hunter Henry to a three-year, $37.5 million contract that includes $25 million in guaranteed money.

Henry, 26, clicked with rookie quarterbac­k Justin Herbert and had a career-best 60 receptions for 613 yards and four touchdowns for the Chargers last season, but he will join a Patriots team that is going through a pass-catching overhaul.

On Monday, the Patriots agreed to a total of nearly $100 million worth of contracts with tight end Jonnu Smith and receivers Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne. They also signed former Ravens linebacker Matthew Judon.

QBs Taylor, Brissett get deals

Multiple outlets reported the Texans agreed to terms with former Chargers quarterbac­k Tyrod Taylor on a one-year contract worth up to $12.5 million. He and disgruntle­d Deshaun Watson, who has asked to be traded, are the only quarterbac­ks on the roster.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins reportedly struck a one-year, $7.5 million deal with former Colts quarterbac­k Jacoby Brissett to replace Ryan Fitzpatric­k as Tua Tagovailoa’s backup. Fitzpatric­k agreed to a one-year deal Monday with Washington.

Giants re-sign DL Williams

The Giants and defensive lineman Leonard Williams agreed to terms on a three-year, $63 million contract that includes $45 million guaranteed, ESPN reported.

Williams, who was hit with the franchise tag for the second consecutiv­e year this month, was coming off a season in which he had 11oe sacks and 30 quarterbac­k hits.

Jags add CB Griffin, WR Jones

Multiple outlets reported the Jaguars agreed to terms with former Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin on a three-year deal worth up to $44.5 million, including $29 million guaranteed. They also reportedly struck a two-year, $14.5 million deal with former Lions receiver Marvin Jones.

Best of the rest

NFL Network reported the Lions will sign former Packers running back Jamaal Williams to a two-year deal worth up to $7.5 million. Williams ran for 505 yards as the backup to Aaron Jones last season.

● The Bills reportedly agreed to terms with former Saints receiver Emmanuel Sanders on a one-year, $6 million contract. The Saints cut Sanders in a salary-cap move this month.

● The Broncos exercised their option on outside linebacker Von Miller’s contract for 2021. The move locks in the final season of the six-year, $114.5 million deal Miller signed in 2016.

● ESPN reported the Chiefs released running back Damien Williams, who ran for more than 100 yards in their Super Bowl victory against the 49ers in February 2020. He sat out the 2020 season.

● Cornerback Tramon Williams retired on his 38th birthday. Williams played 14 seasons — 10 of them with the Packers — and had 34 career intercepti­ons.
