Brady sharp as Bucs cruise past Giants

Tom Brady threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns and the Buccaneers beat the Giants 30-10 on Monday night in Tampa, Florida, to snap a two-game losing streak.

Daniel Jones threw a touchdown pass to left tackle Andrew Thomas, and the Giants stayed close for one half before unraveling.

Down 17-10, the Giants moved to the Buccaneers’ 25-yard line on the opening drive of the third quarter before Jones, under pressure from Devin White, threw incomplete on fourth-and-one after rushing to the line to beat the play clock.

Brady then connected with Mike Evans on a five-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 24-10. Evans set a franchise record with his 72nd touchdown, passing Mike Alstott.

Brady, who finished 30-for-46 with one intercepti­on, improved to 6-1 against the Giants in the regular season.

Saints give Hill 4-year extension

Taysom Hill reportedly signed a four-year contract extension with the Saints that could be worth up to $95 million if he becomes the Saints’ starting quarterbac­k over the next four years.

The new deal will pay him $40 million with $22.5 million guaranteed over the next four years if he remains in his current role. Hill serves as backup quarterbac­k, running back, wide receiver, tight end and is a special-teams ace.

The dual-threat quarterbac­k has been a dynamic part of the Saints’ offense since 2018, when he initially was claimed off waivers as an undrafted rookie from the Packers in 2017.

In other Saints news, tight end Adam Trautman will miss four to six weeks after suffering a sprained MCL against the Eagles.

Packers lose starting OL Jenkins

Packers star offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins suffered a seasonendi­ng torn ACL during the loss to the Vikings. Jenkins had been filling in for left tackle David Bakhtiari, who still has not been cleared to return from last year’s ACL injury.

Also, coach Matt LaFleur said Aaron Rodgers will be limited in practice this week with a nagging toe injury, but it won’t keep him sidelined against the Rams.

Broncos lock up star receivers

Broncos receiver Courtland Sutton agreed to a four-year contract extension worth more than $60 million with $35 million guaranteed. Sutton’s extension comes two days after wide receiver Tim Patrick signed a three-year extension worth $30 million with $18.5 million in guarantees.

Ruggs still under house arrest

Former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was allowed to remain under house arrest with a continuous alcohol monitor on one ankle and a GPS monitor on the other after a fatal crash he’s accused of causing by driving drunk.

Chargers’ COVID list growing

Chargers defensive tackle Linval Joseph entered the league’s COVID-19 protocol after a positive test. He is the fifth Chargers defensive player over the last two weeks who has either tested positive or had to go on the list as a close contact.
