More changes in Bears’ front office

General manager Ryan Poles continued to retool the Bears’ front office Tuesday, naming Trey Koziol and Jeff King the team’s co-directors of player personnel.

The Bears hired Koziol, a Hinsdale Central graduate and one of Poles’ former teammates at Boston College, earlier this year. King, a former Panthers and Cardinals tight end, was the Bears’ pro scouting director the previous two seasons. The two will work underneath Poles and assistant GM Ian Cunningham.

Mark Sadowski, who had been the Bears’ college scouting director since 2016, is no longer with the team, a source confirmed.

†The NFL hired 10 new on-field officials, including the first Asian American to officiate in the league. Lo van Pham, who was born in Vietnam and moved to the United States when he was 7, joins the NFL from the Big 12.

Celtics make 20 three-pointers to even series

Jaylen Brown scored 30 points and Jayson Tatum 29, and the host Celtics made 20 three-pointers en route to trouncing the Bucks 109-86 to even their Eastern Conference semifinal series 1-1. Giannis Antetokoun­mpo scored 28 points for the Bucks.

The Celtics played without guard Marcus Smart, the Defensive Player of the Year, who missed the game with a bruised right quadriceps suffered in the series opener Sunday.

Ja Morant scored 15 points in the last 4:16 on his way to a 47-point, eight-rebound, eight-assist performanc­e, and the Grizzlies evened their Western Conference semifinal series against the visiting Warriors at a game apiece with a 106-101 victory. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 27 points.

Heat guard Tyler Herro got 96 of 100 firstplace votes from a global panel of sportswrit­ers and broadcaste­rs on his way to being named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year. He averaged 20.7 points.

Penguins beat Rangers in triple overtime

Evgeni Malkin scored the winning goal 5:58 into the third overtime, and the Penguins overcame a stunning 79-save effort by goalie Igor Shesterkin to outlast the host Rangers 4-3 in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series.

Evgeny Kuznetsov and T.J. Oshie scored the tying and go-ahead goals 2:23 apart midway through the third period to rally the visiting Capitals to a 4-2 victory against the Panthers in the opener of their first-round playoff series.

The NHL suspended Maple Leafs forward Kyle Clifford for one game for boarding Lightning forward Ross Colton in the first period of the teams’ first-round series opener Monday in Toronto.
