LONG SNAPPER SCALES RETURNS

-

Long snapper Patrick Scales, the Bears’ longest-tenured player, will return for another season. His agent wrote on social media late Friday that Scales will rejoin the team on a one-year deal.

Scales, 36, joined the Bears in 2015 after spending one season with the Ravens and has logged 120 games for them.

Earlier in the day, the Bears signed safety Tarvarius Moore, a former third-round pick of the 49ers. Moore was a key special-teams player for Bears coordinator Richard Hightower when the two spent three seasons together with the 49ers.

The Bears also extended the contract of receiver Collin Johnson, who caught one pass last season.

†Three days after getting the franchise tag, defensive end Justin Madubuike agreed to terms on a reported four-year, $98 million contract with the Ravens that includes $75.5 million in guaranteed money.

†Multiple outlets reported the Patriots retained pending free-agent tight end Hunter Henry by agreeing to terms with him on a three-year contract.
