Banks’ folly in lending to Trump

Regardless of the exact amount of money Donald Trump owes the banks as a result of his business failures, you have to wonder why, over the years, banks have bent over backward to hand over massive amounts of money to a person with his negative credit history while working-class people have to beg the bank officer for a car loan. If a bankruptcy wipes out Trump’s debt, few tears will be shed for the banks.
