Michael Giannos, 93, born in Pelagos, Arcadia, Greece; Beloved husband of Dina (nee Angelopoul­os); Devoted father of Marcy (Jim) Sotirchos and Sam (Renee) Giannos; Cherished papou of Olivia and Connor Sotirchos and Natalie and Michael

Giannos; Loving brother of the late John (the late Maria) Giannos, the late Nick (Tasia)

Giannos, and the late Toula (the late Nick) Tzimopoulo­s; Dearest brother-in-law of Anna (the late Dimitri) Sofronas, John (the late Angeline) Angelopoul­os, and the late Stella (George) Karkazis; Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews, godfather and friend to many here and in Greece. Michael immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 aboard the ship “Conte Biancamana” arriving in the port of San Diego, California, as a young man in search of a better life! He studied, worked multiple jobs and eventually traveled to Chicago to marry the love of his life, Dina. Together they enjoyed 59 years of happiness. Michael was a loving, supportive, and inspiratio­nal father and grandfathe­r. Michael was the proud co-owner of J & M Launderett­es and J & M Building Company for 56 years. Visitation, Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Colonial Wojciechow­ski Funeral Home 8025 W. Golf Rd., Niles. Family and friends are requested to please meet at 9:45 a.m., Friday morning, at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church 7373 N.
