Nesting Boxes

Your hens will need a cozy space to lay their eggs. Here’s a design for a double nesting box that’s very simple to build. You can expand this to as many nesting boxes as you need, as well as include hatches at the top or back that make egg collecting easy. Remember that each box should measure approximately 12 inches wide by 14 inches high by 12 inches deep for an average layer.
