China is willing to work with Luxembourg to develop the nations’ bilateral relations in a sustained and steady way, President Xi Jinping said while meeting on Feb 6 with Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg.
Xi said that China appreciated the grand duke’s support for China’s bid and preparations for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Noting that Beijing sticks to expanding opening-up and is willing to embrace the whole world, Xi said China welcomes Luxembourg’s enterprises to tap the potential of cooperation in such areas as advanced technology and green economy.
He also said China hopes that Luxembourg, as one of the founding members of the European Union and a core member, could make greater contributions to the development of China-EU relations.
The grand duke thanked China for its contributions to Luxembourg and many other countries to help them cope with the COVID-19 pandemic and promote economic recovery.
He said the Belt and Road Initiative is a good proposal and Luxembourg will support and actively participate in it.
