China will spearhead a glorious and victorious future for its people under the guidance of Xi Jinping and the new Cabinet lineup, South Asia’s political leaders said, while commending Xi on his reelection as Chinese president.

Mariam Alexander Baby, senior politburo member and head of the international department of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), or CPI-M, congratulated Xi.

“We wish and hope that Xi will be able to lead the People’s Republic of China and the Communist Party of China with all of their resources, and that he will take necessary steps to address China’s problems,” he said.

“The PRC, under the leadership of Xi, it is hoped, will create a progressive society in China that is more egalitarian, equitable, harmonious and prosperous,” he added.

Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan, also a CPI-M politburo member, described Xi’s leadership as crucial in facilitating China’s progress toward establishing a socialist society and transforming the nation into a major player in global trade, commerce, and international relations.

He further expressed his hope for China’s continued advancement under Xi’s leadership.

D. Raja, general secretary of the Communist Party of India, offered his party’s congratulations to Xi. “We express our hope and wish that China would emerge more prosperous under his leadership and China will play a significant role in international global politics, peace and development,” he said.

Xi’s reelection will lead to stability in China, said Saugata Roy, senior leader of Trinamool Congress, a regional party governing West Bengal state.

Revolutionary Socialist Party senior leader and Indian MP N.K. Premachandran, congratulated Xi, adding he hopes the older issues between China and India would be resolved in a very friendly manner.

The countries should grow together toward peace and development because the two Asian giants have to grow together, he noted.

Rashed Khan Menon, chairman of the Workers Party of Bangladesh, said the party congratulated Xi on his election. “Under his leadership, the Chinese government would be able to carry out the goals set by the 20th National Congress of the CPC and make China further strong both economically and militarily to face the challenge of imperialism and make the world a peaceful abode of mankind,” said Menon, a veteran communist leader.

Dilip Barua, general secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist-Leninist), also “congratulated Comrade Xi Jinping” on his unanimous reelection as president of China.

“We hope that under the dynamic leadership of President Xi, the Chinese people will build upon the glorious and victorious future on the new journey to realize the ‘second centenary goal’ and the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation on the new journey that lies before them in the new era,” he said.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) and former Nepali prime minister, said, “China will play a very important role in world politics and in maintaining world peace under the leadership of Xi.”
