To help local Fujian enterprises invest in developing countries, a memorandum was signed on Monday between the International Finance Corp of the World Bank and the Fujian provincial department of foreign trade and economic cooperation.
Zheng Xiaosong, deputy-governor of Fujian, said local companies need to learn from IFC’s international experience to expand their markets.
“The cooperation facilitates exchanges between Fujian enterprises and for about a decade and it provides a platform to enhance cooperation and promote innovation and creativity through trade and investment.
Forrest Monroy, Seagate Technology’s global vicepresident, said “win-win” means a lot in today’s business world and the CIFIT offers opportunities to companies eager for partners. other firms in emerging markets. It will enhance competitiveness of local firms and boost the province’s economic growth,” Zheng said.
Karin Finkelston, AsiaPacific vice-president of the IFC, said fostering such cooperation is IFC’s important task.
“We will support the innovative projects to help Fujian companies invest overseas and tap into emerging markets,” Finkelston said.
