To help local Fujian enterprise­s invest in developing countries, a memorandum was signed on Monday between the Internatio­nal Finance Corp of the World Bank and the Fujian provincial department of foreign trade and economic cooperatio­n.

Zheng Xiaosong, deputy-governor of Fujian, said local companies need to learn from IFC’s internatio­nal experience to expand their markets.

“The cooperatio­n facilitate­s exchanges between Fujian enterprise­s and for about a decade and it provides a platform to enhance cooperatio­n and promote innovation and creativity through trade and investment.

Forrest Monroy, Seagate Technology’s global vicepresid­ent, said “win-win” means a lot in today’s business world and the CIFIT offers opportunit­ies to companies eager for partners. other firms in emerging markets. It will enhance competitiv­eness of local firms and boost the province’s economic growth,” Zheng said.

Karin Finkelston, AsiaPacifi­c vice-president of the IFC, said fostering such cooperatio­n is IFC’s important task.

“We will support the innovative projects to help Fujian companies invest overseas and tap into emerging markets,” Finkelston said.
