Restrictions imposed on people in contempt of court

FINANCE

1. They are barred from founding financial guarantee or insurance companies. 2. They face restrictions if they issue interbank bonds or publicly issue corporate bonds. 3. They are not allowed to found social associations, and are barred from providing goods for purchase by government departments.

REPUTATION

1. Lawyers who fail to enforce court verdicts are not allowed to be named as “excellences” or receive similar acclaim from their peers. 2. It is not allowed to give charity awards to people who refuse to comply with verdicts.

POLICY/ GOVERNMENT

1. They are not allowed to apply for government subsidies and social security funding. 2. They are subject to limits when applying for privileges or policies in sectors such as investment, technology export and import.

INDUSTRY

1. They are restricted from purchasing houses or being given the right to development land or related resources. 2. They are barred from applying to work in or develop the forestry industry. 3. They face restrictions if they apply to operate projects of grassland protection, and are also barred from developing important projects relating to resource protection, such as water, private islands and land.

LIFESTYLE

1. They are barred from buying first-class tickets for high-speed trains, or commercial flights. 2. They are not allowed to live in high-class hotels, or enter golf clubs and similar venues. 3. They are not allowed to book tickets for overseas trips from travel agents. 4. The children of defaulters are not allowed to study at expensive private schools. 5. Their expenditure on house decorations, maintenance or building is strictly regulated.

WORKPLACE

1. They are not allowed to be supervisors, members of the board or executives of State-owned enterprises. 2. They are banned from becoming executives in banks and securities, funding or insurance companies. 3. They are barred from working as civil servants. 4. Their status is assessed and taken into account if they apply to join the Communist Party of China, become a deputy at the National People’s Congress or join the army.

ACCESS

1. They are strictly reviewed or monitored if they deal with customs-related affairs 2. They are subject to strict approval procedures if they attempt to enter businesses related to medicine or food production. 3. They are barred from working in areas related to chemicals, fireworks and mining. 4. They face restricted access to employment or running operations in the real estate and construction sectors.
