A book on Xi Jinping’s journalistic thought has been published by the People’s Publishing House and Xuexi Publishing House and is available in Xinhua Bookstore outlets nationwide.

The book, compiled by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, offers a thorough and in-depth explanation of Xi’s journalistic thought and is highly instructive for journalists.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, Xi, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, has raised insightful new viewpoints, judgments and requirements to strengthen and improve the Party’s publicity work. He has come up with answers to fundamental, strategic and overall issues concerning the longterm development of the Party’s publicity work.

Xi’s journalistic thought is considered an important part of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Being consistent with the journalistic thought of the Party, Xi’s journalistic thought advances with the times and enriches and develops Marxist journalism theory.

A workshop on Xi’s journalistic thought was held by People’s Daily on Wednesday in Beijing. Scholars from institutes and universities such as Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University and Peking University attended the workshop.

They said the thought profoundly expounded the nature and orientation, responsibilities and missions, and guidelines and principles of the Party’s publicity work, People’s Daily reported.
