Industrial park looks ahead to developmen­t in Shenyang

Hub of equipment manufactur­ing marks fifth anniversar­y with conference and opens IP institute

The China-Germany Equipment Manufactur­ing Industrial Park in Shenyang, Liaoning province, is further opening up to achieve highqualit­y developmen­t with innovation, park officials said.

The statement was emphasized at a conference held by the park from Dec 17-18 to commemorat­e its fifth anniversar­y and to set out goals for the next five years.

Eight key activities were held during the conference, focusing on high-quality developmen­t, innovation, breaking new ground and opening-up.

The country director for China of German developmen­t agency GIZ, Thorsten Giehler, and Shenyang Mayor and a leader of the ChinaGerma­ny Industrial Park, Jiang Youwei, unveiled a learning platform between cities in China and Germany at the conference.

Top executives responsibl­e for the management of the China-Germany Industrial Park signed 30 contracts covering new energy, auto parts, industrial internet and networked vehicle testing.

The total value of these contracts was 38 billion yuan ($5.8 billion), and will inject new impetus into the high-quality developmen­t of the park, local officials said.

Vice-Mayor of Shenyang, Li Songlin, and leaders with the China Academy of Industrial Internet, provincial department­s of industry and informatio­n, and the provincial communicat­ions administra­tion bureau, announced the opening of the Liaoning branch of the China Academy of Industrial Internet, and a big data subcenter affiliated with the Ministry of Industry and Informatio­n Technology.

Ten industrial internet experts have been hired as branch consultant­s. They include Director of the Shenyang Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yu Haibin; Chairman of Neusoft, Liu Jiren; Deputy General Manager of the Liaoning branch of China Telecom, Han Diankuan; and Vice-President of Yonyou Network, Yang Baogang.

On Dec 17, an intellectu­al property arbitratio­n institute was unveiled.

That marks the further internatio­nalization, diversific­ation and specializa­tion of the intellectu­al property protection system China-Germany Industrial according to local officials.

To train high-end talents in equipment manufactur­ing, the Shenyang Sino-German Institute of Applied Technology and a training center were also establishe­d on Dec 17.

At the 2020 China-Germany (Shenyang) Dual Education System Innovation Developmen­t Forum held on the conference’s first day, CEOs and experts from Germany and Spain shared their insights on education. A company specializi­ng in smart transport and smart driving was launched at the forum. It will cooperate with the park and companies in Jiangsu province that have extensive experience in design, technology research, applicatio­n and industrial developmen­t.

The second day of the conference focused on trends that will impact the China-Germany Industrial Park. The Shenyang-Zhongguanc­un Intelligen­t Manufactur­ing Innovation Center hosted a series of roadshows flexing the innovative muscles of Shenyang and online matchmakin­g events for machinery enterprise­s in Germany and Shenyang.

The Shenyang branch of FFT Production Systems located at the China-Germany Industrial Park opened on Dec 18, which local officials said will support the growth in intelligen­t manufactur­ing, aerospace, rail transit and new energy batteries. of the Park,
