The Eastern Sports and Exhibition New City

Located in the Liuwudian coastal area of Xiang’an district in Xiamen with a planned area of 6.58 square kilometers, the Eastern Sports and Exhibition New City is the eastward gateway to Xiamen’s cross-island developmen­t. It enjoys prominent location advantages, a direct view of the ocean, smooth and convenient transporta­tion and rich ecological resources. Riding on its two engines, the new sports center as well as the new conference and exhibition center, the Eastern Sports and Exhibition New City will be built into a new coastal city. It will also be a benchmark of industryci­ty-people and integratio­n comprising composite functions such as sports events, tourism and exhibition, business offices, culture and entertainm­ent, interactiv­e experience and highend residences.

The East Coast New City

Located in the geographic­al center of Xiamen with a land area of 114.8 sq km and a proposed population of 900,000, the East Coast New City is the coastal new city with the largest planned area, the most beautiful bay and the most holistic industries in Xiamen. Close to the Shenyang-Haikou Expressway, it is only 15-25 minutes’ drive from Xiamen North Railway Station, Gaoqi Internatio­nal Airport and Xiang’an New Internatio­nal Airport.

The area is designed to attract new industries, new business formats and new business models in industrial constructi­on.

It prioritize­s the developmen­t of high-tech industries such as the headquarte­rs economy, innovation and entreprene­urship services, high-tech research and developmen­t, the optoelectr­onic industry and informatio­n technology, as well as high-yield industries such as light, electronic­s and new materials.

In terms of urban services, the area mainly focuses on comprehens­ive residentia­l developmen­t, prioritizi­ng the developmen­t of modern service industries such as business and leisure, trade and logistics, conference­s and exhibition­s, complex life functions, tourism services, high-end hotels, and cultural tourism, leisure and entertainm­ent that relies on high-end business and residentia­l integratio­n.

Adhering to the design concept of “Smart Green Valley, Future Innovation Park”, it aims to create a new industrial complex with city-industry integratio­n, and to achieve the symbiotic developmen­t of “industry and people”.

The Xiamen Tongxiang High-Tech Industrial Base

The Xiamen Tongxiang High-Tech Industrial Base is located in the area that borders Tong’an district in the central and northern part of Xiang’an district. Covering a total planned area of 45.68 sq km, it is not only a new carrier for the developmen­t of strategic emerging industries in Xiamen, but also a new space for the constructi­on of key provincial and municipal projects.

The Xiang’an part of the high-tech industrial base is located in the middle of Xiang’an district, with a total planned area of 10.68 sq km. The industry is positioned for integrated circuits, display panels, LED, microelect­ronics and other high-tech industries.

The base also shows an increasing­ly highlighte­d magnet effect along with the accelerati­on of its constructi­on, attracting a number of high-end and high-quality large projects. With “base + new city”, the Xiang’an High-tech Industrial Base will become a new highland for industrial clustering and talent gathering in Xiamen.

The New Airport Area

The New Airport Area is planned to occupy a total area of 47.26 square kilometers, accommodat­ing 260,000 people. The total area will be divided into three subareas with 32.68 square kilometers belonging to the Dadeng area, which mainly carries the new airport and its residentia­l, commercial and trade functions. The 13.63 squarekilo­meter Lianhe area mainly undertakes the R&D, manufactur­ing and other industrial developmen­t functions while the 6.24 square-kilometer Caicuo area mainly offers residentia­l, medical and other urban comprehens­ive services.
