The Duchess of Cambridge doles out advice for sister Pippa’s wedding.
THE DUCHESS GIVES HER SISTER HEARTFELT ADVICE ON MAKING HER BIG DAY SHINE
As Pippa Middleton anxiously counts down the days to her May 20 wedding, she’s leaning on her big sister, Kate, for support. “Kate has all the knowledge and experience to help Pippa,” a source close to the family confides to Closer. “Kate’s been heavily involved in planning and she’s determined to make it an unforgettable day.”
The Duchess of Cambridge’s 2011 royal wedding to Prince William was one of the most talked-about events in recent history, and while she had professional help, Kate insisted on being hands-on. “She’s a natural when it comes to organizing events,” notes the source.
Pippa, 33, got engaged to millionaire banker James Matthews, 41, in July 2016 and now, with the nuptials just weeks away, Kate, 35, is helping to calm her sister’s jitters. “She promises Pippa she has nothing to worry about and joked that at least she doesn’t have to exchange vows in front of three billion viewers,” says the source. Instead, Pippa and James will say their “I do”s before 150 close friends and family at St. Mark’s church in the village of Englefield, with a reception to follow nearby at the Middletons’ family home.
Guests will be treated to a four-course dinner and “the champagne will be flowing,” says the source. “Pippa isn’t having an over-the-top wedding. She wants her big day to focus on family.” That includes her adorable niece Princess Charlotte, 1, and nephew Prince George, 3, who are sure to steal the spotlight in the roles of bridesmaid and pageboy.
British milliner Stephen Jones, who has created hats for Dior, has been spotted at Pippa’s London home with her mom, Carole. She and husband Michael are thrilled about their youngest daughter’s upcoming nuptials. “They make a wonderful couple, and we wish them every happiness,” raves Michael. While there will be a bit less pomp and circumstance than Kate’s royal union, Pippa’s wedding is sure to be a celebration full of love. — Amy L. Hogan
