YOUNGER IN SECONDS
Michelle Pfeiffer’s secret to plump, fuller lips.
Martha Stewart
Pomegranate Evens Skin Tone
The domestic diva deals with the same aging woe we all do: splotchy skin. “Years of sun exposure, hormonal shifts and a lack of moisture as we get older can result in a dull, discolored complexion,” says celebrity dermatologist
Gary Goldfaden, M.D. For a gorgeous glow like Martha has now, he suggests pomegranate oil. Derived from the fruit’s seeds, the oil’s ellagic acid acts like a gentle bleach to lighten dark patches while its vitamin C brightens skin and its vitamin A encourages cell turnover to improve skin’s texture. Simply rub 3 drops of oil (we like Shea Terra Organics Egyptian Pomegranate Cold Pressed Oil, $24, sheaterraorganics.com) onto the face nightly for noticeable results in two weeks.
Monica Bellucci
Blended Highlights Boost Shine
Flat, inky color sapped the life out of the Italian actress’ strands in 2014, adding decades to her appearance, says colorist Rick Wellman, who has worked with Brooke Shields and Tina Fey. But her new thin highlights add dimension and shine to her locks while long bangs beautifully conceal forehead furrows and crow’s-feet. To copy Monica’s look: Ask your stylist for graduated brow-skimming bangs. Then use a highlighting kit (we like L’Oréal Paris Superior Preference Glam Lights in Medium Brown to Dark Brown #GL50, $13, ulta.com) to paint streaks onto bangs and half-inch faceframing sections of hair. Let sit 30 minutes; rinse.
Michelle Pfeiffer
This Lipstick Plumps the Pout
What made the Golden Globe winner’s lips look so thin four years ago? Frosty skin-toned lipcolor. “The lack of contrast with her complexion left her lips to blend in with the rest of her face while the pearlescent shimmer put the spotlight on aging lip lines,” says makeup artist Shara Strand, who’s worked with Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. But a swipe of rosy pink this year popped against Michelle’s complexion, and the glossy finish created the illusion of fuller lips. For similar benefits, look for a tinted lipstick infused with coconut oil (we like Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil in Rustling Rose, $9, walgreens.com). The color lightly stains lips and the oil’s fatty acids fill in lines while imparting lipplumping shine without the stickiness of a gloss.
