A DIFFERENT WORLD
Whatever happened to the cast of...
Dawnn Lewis
Following her school days as Jaleesa Vinson, Dawnn, 55, was a study in versatility. She’s been on TV from Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper to Major Crimes, and Dawnn also appeared in the movie Dreamgirls, hit the stage for Sister Act: The Musical, has done voiceover work, started a record label and served on the
board of SAG.
Jasmine Guy
After six seasons as
spoiled Southern belle Whitley Gilbert, Jasmine, 55, proved to be a class act, moving between series such as Dead Like Me and The Vampire Diaries and working in the theater as a performer, producer and director. But, she’s stated, “my biggest lesson in my life has been learning to live between the gigs.”
Kadeem Hardison
Subsequent to playing math prodigy Dwayne Wayne, Kadeem, who
turns 52 on July 24, figured in a number of projects. He’s appeared
in movies including Panther and Biker Boyz as well as TV series from Living Single to Everybody Hates Chris. He currently stars in the Disney Channel sitcom K.C. Undercover
alongside Jasmine.
Lisa Bonet
Just as Denise Huxtable dropped out of college, Lisa, 49, decided to take a different course in her life. She appeared in pics like Enemy of the State and High Fidelity as well as TV’s Life on Mars, The Red Road and Ray Donovan, but has focused mainly on raising a family, first with rocker Lenny Kravitz, then with Road co-star
Jason Momoa.
Marisa Tomei
While she spent just one season as Denise’s
college roommate Maggie Lauten, Marisa, 52, graduated to bigger things — winning an Oscar for My Cousin
Vinny, receiving nominations for In the Bedroom and The Wrestler and getting the role of a certain webslinger’s Aunt May in Spider-Man:
Homecoming.
