BLADE RUNNER 2049

-

“It’s interesting to develop a character after a [long] period of time,” says Harrison Ford of reprising his role as cop Rick Deckard from the classic 1982 sci-fi film Blade Runner. “Ryan [Gosling’s] and my first big scene was talking about the history of Deckard, what he was up to for the last 30 years…and I just found it unexpectedly emotional.” He also had warm feelings about his new co-star, who plays an LAPD officer. “Ryan brings a real, original emotional intelligence,” Harrison says. “I never knew what I was going to get [in a scene with Ryan], which is a good thing.” Audiences may feel the same way about the movie, which was directed by Arrival’s Denis Villeneuve, taking over from Ridley Scott, who serves as an executive producer. “Blade Runner is one of my favorite movies,” Denis says. “I have Ridley’s blessing — that’s the first thing I asked for.” [R]
