Blond Highlights Boost Shine

One aging woe the Oscar winner doesn’t deal with is thinning tresses (look at all that hair!), but dull color in 2014 left Holly’s locks and skin looking lackluster. “Now the golden tones of her bright blond streaks reflect light for the illusion of super-shiny strands that illuminate her complexion, shaving years from her look,” says colorist Heather Cie, who’s worked with Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz. To do: Use a clean toothbrush to apply a dye three shades lighter than your natural color (like Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Crème in #93-Light Golden Blonde, $7, target.com) to 2-inch sections of hair, skipping a half-inch between sections. Let sit 30 minutes; rinse.

Velvety Lipstick Plumps Lips

A flat, matte lip stain emphasized the fine lines, flaking skin and shrinking volume on the Downton Abbey alum’s pout, leaving her looking older at 52 than she does at 56! All it took to turn back the clock? A creamy lipstick in a bold berry shade. “The emollient properties of a formula containing beeswax glides smoothly over dry lips while the added hydration leaves a soft sheen and ‘fills in’ creases so lips look instantly plump and moist,” says makeup artist Tonya Crooks, who has worked with Gwyneth Paltrow and Julia Roberts. Bonus? “The rosier undertones of a deep berry shade impart warmth to the skin for a healthy glow.” A berry lipstick we like: NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Hestia

Linda Lavin

This Scrub Rejuvenates Skin

The award-winning Alice actress can add “aging in reverse” to her impressive résumé after transforming her one-time wrinkly complexion into smooth, radiant skin. To look as youthful as Linda does now, dermatologist Tsippora Shainhouse, M.D., who treats stars in her Beverly Hills office, points to a microdermabrasion scrub with ginkgo extract (we like Botanics Radiant Youth Refining Microdermabrasion Polish, $13, ulta.com). “Tiny crystals gently slough off dead cells to diminish the appearance of fine lines and the plant’s flavonoids stimulate collagen production for firmer-looking skin.” For results in one month, massage a pea-sized amount of scrub onto damp skin once a week for 1 minute, then rinse.
