A Seasonal Mix to MAKE THEM MERRY

-

Bring a splash of fresh-picked holiday style to any space with this fun and

festive bouquet — it’s guaranteed to charm everyone!

WHAT’S NEW

This holiday season, designers are showcasing snowflake-white amaryllis in a bed of evergreen sprigs for a festive fusion of rustic comfort and sophistication. “The dramatic contrast allows the flowers to pop while the pinecones and scarlet baubles further the naturally refined holiday style,” says floral expert Robbin Yelverton. “It’s the perfect bouquet for an elegant Yuletide table that feels warm and inviting!”

GET THE LOOK

Fill a 6-inch cachepot with soaked floral foam, then cut 10 pine, 10 fir and 6 to 8 white amaryllis stems to 10 inches. Insert the pine and fir sprigs to cover the foam. Add pairs of amaryllis stems, evenly spaced throughout. Next, remove the caps from 6 medium and 16 mini Christmas balls. Slip a skewer into each ball and insert it into the foam. Finish by tying 8 pinecones to the evergreen sprigs using floral wire.

FLORIST’S SECRET

Cut amaryllis can last up to two weeks with this clever pro florist trick: If the edges of the blooms appear wilted, remove the flowers from the bouquet and snip the straw-like stems at a sharp angle. Next, turn the flower upside down, fill the stem with water and plug the end with a cotton ball. Return the blooms to the bouquet. They’ll have a reservoir of water in their stems to keep them hydrated.
