KATE MIDDLETON

ALL THE DETAILS ON WILLIAM AND KATE’S ROYALLY SWEET ARRIVAL

-

New details on how the Duchess of Cambridge is preparing for baby No. 3!

It’s baby time! The days leading up to the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third child have been both busy and calm. As Kate, 36, and Will, 35, rested up in their Kensington Palace apartment prior to her April 23 due date, the assigned “baby team,” including Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton, were “on high alert,” royals expert James McCourt tells Closer. “They’re dedicated to making sure everything is ready, from media plans to security to hospital arrangements.” And no one is more prepared than Kate herself!

Outside St. Mary’s Hospital in London, “crowd barriers have been set up,” McCourt says, and parking is suspended until April 30. While Kate flirted with a home birth, she’s returning to where she had George, 4, and Charlotte, 2. The luxe Lindo Wing offers lots of comforts, such as chef-made meals, elegant furnishings and champagne toasts.

As before, “William will accompany Kate throughout the birth,” McCourt adds, and before any news goes public, the proud pop will call the queen first. “Prince William rang his grandmother on an encrypted phone when Prince George was born,” informs McCourt.

Barring complications, Kate expects to be back home within 24 hours. “She can’t wait to introduce George and Charlotte to the baby,” says a royal insider. For a few days Carole will stay with the couple, but they haven’t hired extra help, the insider adds, since “Kate wants to do the night feeds herself.”

With Will’s brother Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding nearly a month away on May 19, that big day may also mark Kate’s first official postpartum outing — if she and Will are up to it. “I’m going to be permanently tired,” Will has joked.

So, is this the royal couple’s last child? Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, isn’t so sure. “I doubt it,” he posted on Twitter. “They are having such fun with the babies!” — Lisa Chambers, with reporting
