SMALL WONDER

From Sept. 7, 1985, to May 20, 1989, these humans helped a robot bring love and laughter everywhere.

Dick Christie

While Ted Lawson invented the Voice Input Child Indenticant called Vicky, Dick, 69, went on to make a name for himself in other roles, most notably as Charlie Webber on the soap The Bold and the Beautiful.

Jerry Supiran

Subsequent to being Vicky’s wisecracking brother, Jamie, Jerry, 45, didn’t have much to laugh about. He got bilked of his trust fund, became unemployed after 15 years of waiting tables and was homeless for a time.

Marla Pennington

After putting up with Vicky’s antics as mom Joan, Marla, 64, found she “didn’t have the drive” to act anymore. Instead, she raised two kids with her husband, lawyer

Tom Rowan — the son of Laugh-In’s Dan Rowan.

Emily Schulman

Following nosy next-door neighbor Harriet Brindle, Emily, 40, eyeballed a new place in the biz. After a turn on TV’s Christy, she became a talent agent. She also got married, raised a family and now teaches acting in Connecticut.

Tiffany Brissette

Though robot Vicky tried to act as normal as possible, Tiffany, 43, left acting for “normalcy and sanity” and became a registered nurse in Boulder, Colo. “It was a fabulous run,” she says, “but I was ready for what’s next.”
