If you’ve ever imagined a food store with no

price tags, your dream has come true. On June 16, celebrity chef Jagger Gordon opened Feed It Forward in Toronto, billed as “the world’s first pay-what-youcan bakery, coffee and grocery store.” The idea, he says, is to show how we can “utilize food that’s destined for landfills: perfectly edible food that can be filling the empty bellies of our citizens.” Groceries, restaurant­s and other businesses donate overstocke­d items, edible but misshapen or bruised produce and goods close to their expiration date.
