FORGET 9 TO 5! THIS COUNTRY DYNAMO IS WORKING AROUND THE CLOCK ON SEVERAL PROJECTS — BUT SHE STILL FINDS TIME FOR CHARITY, TOO

- — Ron Kelly

On June 25, Dolly Parton announced she’d soon be sharing her second star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with her 1987 Trio album collaborators, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris. “Of course, that’s natural,” the buxom country legend quipped of being the first woman this century to be doubly honored on the famed strip. “I like to do things in pairs, if you know what I mean!” That’s actually a rather modest claim for the 72-year-old superstar, whose to-do list just keeps multiplying.

As reported last month, eight of Dolly’s songs will be turned into an anthology series for Netflix, set to premiere in 2019. “I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music,” says the singer, who’ll serve as executive producer and star in several of the installments.

The star is also working on two other “secret TV projects,” a source reveals to Closer. She’ll executive produce Sister Love, about a female Southern preacher, and she’ll star in another series tentatively titled Southern Belle-Heir, about a grandmother type who inherits a mansion. “She’s interested in casting Miley Cyrus to star as her granddaughter,” the source adds, noting that Dolly’s doing another NBC holiday-themed movie to follow up on the success of 2016’s Emmynominated Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.

On the big screen, the two-time Oscar nominee is writing the soundtrack to Jennifer Aniston’s Dumplin’, due out later this year. She’s also committed to reuniting with Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda for a sequel to 1980’s 9 to 5, which Dolly hopes to do sooner rather than later. “Otherwise,” she jokes, “it’s gonna be 95 instead of 9 to 5. We’re all gonna be 95!”
