On House of Cards, President Claire Underwood can’t go anywhere without creating a commotion. But the actress who plays her, Robin Wright, recently pulled off a stealth wedding to her beau, French fashionista Clement Giraudet, and flying under the radar is just her style.
“It was a very small, short ceremony, and it wasn’t planned out very much,” an insider tells Closer of the nuptials, which took place outdoors in the Provence region of France. “Mostly everyone was wearing flip-fops and dancing on the lawn.”

Robin, 52, and Clement were first spotted together last fall, and speculation about their engagement was fueled by photos of them getting cozy and Robin wearing a ring this winter. She was involved in a turbulent marriage from 1996 to 2010 to frequent co-star Sean Penn, father of daughter Dylan, 27, and son Hopper, 25. Robin was engaged to another actor, Ben Foster (Leave No Trace), for a year, but they split in 2015. “You have to do the work in your marriage,” she says, “but it has to be laid on a strong foundation of love.” They seem to be off to a good start, based on reports from the wedding. “Robin actually did her own hair and her own makeup for the wedding — that’s how casual and calm the entire weekend was,” shares the insider. “It was just about having fun and being super warm and welcoming. All about good friends and family and love!”
