With the June 12 wedding of his youngest son, Joshua, Donny Osmond and his wife, Debra, have become empty nesters. “Debbie and I have longed for this day when all five of our sons are happily married,” Donny, 62, told Closer.

Josh, 22, and Summer Felsted, 21, were united during a small celebration in Donny’s backyard against a scenic backdrop of Provo, Utah’s imposing mountains. “The ceremony was simple with lots of flowers and a beautiful arbor,” said the couple, who canceled a larger reception out of coronavirus concerns. “It was more beautiful than we could have imagined and focused on our love,” they added. “The weather was perfect — a bit overcast, which helped keep us cool in the Utah heat.”

WRITTEN IN THE STARS

Donny’s look-alike son and his new bride have been friends since childhood — they even attended a dance together in high school — but romance didn’t develop between them until Josh returned home from a stretch of missionary work last winter. “We saw each other at a Christmas party,” confides Summer, who says she realized then that Josh was “the cutest boy she’d ever seen.” Four months ago, Josh popped the question.

Growing up, the young man said he looked to Donny as a role model for marriage. “My father is the greatest example of someone who loves and cares for his spouse,” Josh said of the singer, who married Debra in 1978. “His life and decisions revolve around her. He makes me want to do the same.”

Donny’s sure Josh will. “When he and Summer started dating, I noticed when they were together, they were very content,” says Donny, who offered some advice to the newlyweds: “Keep your marriage fun, and always treat your spouse with the utmost respect and kindness.”
