The royal couple are putting the finishing touches on the nursery as they excitedly await their second child.
Meghan Markle has already decorated the new baby’s nursery at her California home. “It’s bright, spacious and modern, but has a cozy feel,” a friend tells Closer. “She’s using neutral colors and lots of textures.”
Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, shared the news that she is pregnant with their second child on Valentine’s Day — the same day 37 years ago that Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, announced her pregnancy with him! “This pregnancy is a dream come true for Meghan and Harry,” the friend says of the couple, who suffered a miscarriage last year. “They feel so blessed.”
These are sweet days. In addition to making their son Archie, 21 months, a big brother, Meghan, 39, recently won her privacy lawsuit against a British tabloid that printed her letters to her estranged father. And although the pandemic has forced Meghan and Harry out of the spotlight, they have signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify. Meghan has also agreed to “a wideranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure,” according to CBS, who will broadcast the chat, which will also include Prince Harry.
FAMILY TIES
While Meghan and Harry’s TV interview is likely to rankle some at the palace, Queen Elizabeth II, 94, was overjoyed to learn Meghan is pregnant again. “Harry told the royals before the public announcement,” says the friend. “Everyone is excited. At the end of the day, they just want him to be happy.”
