BIG CHANGES Ahead

WITH HIS FIRST REAL JOB AND A NEW BABY ON THE WAY, PRINCE HARRY HAS FINALLY TAKEN CONTROL OF HIS LIFE

- –Reporting by Natalie Posner

As a member of Britain’s royal family, Prince Harry has been taught from childhood the importance of helping others. So he’s excited about his new job as an executive at BetterUp Inc., a mental health coaching firm. “Proactive coaching provides endless possibilities for personal development, increased awareness and an all-round better life,” Harry enthuses.

His first corporate job will hopefully allow Harry, 36, to lead the financially independent life he and wife Meghan Markle, 39, left England to pursue last year. “He’d never had a proper job like the rest of us, and now the offers are pouring in!” says a royal insider. “It’s a really exciting time.” And Meghan, who is due to deliver their daughter this summer, will also be working. The couple has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to produce documentaries said to be worth $100 million.

FAMILY TIES

Finally having his own income might help Harry and his father, Prince Charles, make amends. Part of the difficulty of their father-son relationship is that Charles, whose Duchy of Cornwall earns more than $25 million a year, held the purse strings while Harry was a working royal. “Prince Charles is particularly irritated by Harry’s allegations that he cut him off financially and says it’s a distorted version of the truth,” confides the insider. “Harry portraying him as a bad father really stung Charles. He wants to make it clear that he did give Harry money after Megxit.”

Since his explosive TV interview, Harry has spoken with both his father, 72, and his brother, Prince William, 38, but those discussions did not go well. “Their conversations were heated, but neither have given up,” says the insider.

Harry has also had the opportunity to talk to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, 94, about his new job. “Their conversations have been productive and calm — the Queen also spoke briefly with Meghan,” says the insider, who adds that Harry is largely happy about the big changes happening in his life. “The aftermath of the interview has been stressful for Harry. He still has the occasional down day, but he is 100 percent in a better place.”

?? ?? “Charles still loves his son,” says the insider, who adds that both sides hope to mend fences.
