Raymond George Pramuka, 95, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018. He was born in Bridgeport, Conn. on March 20, 1923 to George F. Pramuka and Anna Kasper Pramuka.

Ray is survived by his college sweetheart and loving wife of 68 years, Ruth Sosnowy Pramuka, their son Raymond Michael Pramuka and his wife Pamela, son John David Pramuka and grandchild­ren Cathy, Julianna Rae and Camber. He was predecease­d by his daughter- in- law Teresa A. Pramuka ( 5/ 26/ 59 - 2/ 2/ 17) and grandson, Braydon John Pramuka ( 4/ 30/ 1998 -

9/ 29/ 1999).

Ray graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport, Conn., received a BA from the University of Connecticu­t, and his MBA from Columbia University in New York City. Ray spent his entire career with the New York Telephone Company where he held several senior management positions in Accounting.

Ray served in World War II in the 104th Infantry Division known as the Timberwolv­es. Ray was an avid golfer, boater, snow skier and all- around sports enthusiast. His pride and joy was his 1960 wooden Penn Yan powerboat, “Double Martini”, which he meticulous­ly maintained at his boathouse on the Five Mile River in Rowayton, Conn. for 50 years. Ray was famous for his “Dock Parties” at his boathouse and was a fan of The Boston Red Sox and Uconn Huskies.

Ray had a love of numbers and would gladly share with you that he had found over 100,000 gold balls during retirement and stun you with statistics like what his heating oil consumptio­n was by month since 1950 or proudly reveal his age ( in days - 34,870).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 4 p. m. at the Chapel of Cypress Village Brookdale, 4600 Middleton Park Circle East, Jacksonvil­le, Fla. with a reception to follow.
