What do you hope humanity learns from the coronavirus pandemic?

-

Lacee Yurtoglu, artist, New Milford

“I hope that people will come out of quarantine more grateful for their peers, friends and community. I believe isolation will teach so many people how important it is to value time spent with others.”

Robert Beinke, minister, Norwalk

“I hope that humanity learns that we are not self- sufficient and need to look to God in Christ for His help and His life beyond this life, and then look to one another to see how we can help and be of support to one another.”

Olivia Ransohoff, ER veterinary technician, Hamden

“I hope that humanity learns the importance of public safety and the science that goes with it. As a veterinary technician, part of our role is to educate the public on the importance of our animals’ health and how that coincides with our health.”

Eloisa Melendez, Conn. Democrats, Norwalk

“I hope humanity learns to appreciate the ‘ little’ things in life that we previously didn’t think twice about, like getting together with family or going out for dinner with friends. I hope we can all finally understand that we all need each other.”

Guillaume Woodberdjy, student, security guard, Stamford

“One thing for sure this pandemic shows is that life is fragile, because at the end of the day everyone is at risk, as it does not matter your race, ethnicity or the amount you have in your bank account. This pandemic was enough to shut down the whole world and messed up the flow of things. We should take this as an opportunity to do an introspection, to live for the moment, to value people, because tomorrow is uncertain.”

Frank Miharbi, musician/ server, Stamford

“I think as individuals and collectively as a group we have definitely learned a lot about ourselves during this tough time. I think the message or takeaway from all of this is to appreciate the smaller things in life: going for a walk, spending time with loved ones and loving each other unconditionally.”
