Nicholas ( Nick) S. Hudak, age 80, husband of Patti passed away at Lord Chamberlai­n Nursing Home under Hospice care. Nick was born in Bridgeport and was the son of Charles and Anna Hudak. His sister Dorothy survives him. He had one brother Charles ( Sonny) Hudak that was predecease­d. Nick went to Harding High School earning his GED in the US Navy and was a Navy veteran. During his four years in the Navy, he traveled back and forth to Antarctica on the USS Arneb ( aka 56) as a Loader Diesel Mechanic. He was awarded the Antarctic Service Medal. In 1962, Nick crossed the equator, the Internatio­nal Dateline and the Antarctic Circle. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked at Producto Machine Company of Bridgeport as a machinist for over 40 years.

Survivors include: wife, Patti, daughters, Lisa and Lori, sons- in- law Russell and Kurt, sister- in- law, Mariam, brotherin- law, Michael and wife Marion. Grandchild, Raffaela and many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to Dr.’ s Goldfarb, Berard and Gupta, nurses and aides including Kendra and Melissa, all phone operators and administra­tion at Lord Chamberlai­n Nursing Home, Fairfield Dialysis including Case Manager Brittany, Ambulatory Infusion Center including Betsy Hlvac, RN, BSN, Case Manager Michelle Danalfio and staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Dr. King and all Vascular Doctors, All CT Hospice Nurses including Vivette Park Greenberg, RN, Mara, Joan Malloy, Aides and Hospice Priest, Swim Across the Sound including Vicki Ogden and staff and Greater Bridgeport Transit ( GBT).

Patti extends her heartfelt thanks to all of you for the wonderful job you have done in helping the family. We don’t know what we would have done without you.
