Marion Mareta

Marion Claire Matera, 92, of Wallingford. Formerly of Meriden and Trumbull, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at MidState Medical Center. She was born in Bridgeport, November 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Frank and Claire ( Pirozzoli) Matera and lived most of her life in Trumbull. She was employed by General Electric for many years and went on to retire from Black and Decker after 45 years of service. Marion was a parishioner of St. Theresa’s church and a member of the St. Theresa’s Senior Club. She also belonged to the Poquonock Camera Club and the Trumbull Senior Center. She loved her family which was everything to her. She enjoyed bowling, photography, world travel and loved playing cards. She is survived by her sister, Joyce ( Mrs. George) Soltesz of Wallingford; her niece and nephews and their spouses, Frank and Mary Soltesz, Paul Soltesz, Richard and Lucille Soltesz, Janice and Steve Madden, and Gregg and Kristen Soltesz; her great- nieces and nephews, Michael Soltesz, Samantha and Andrew Zajac, Shannon and Jonathan Hernandez, Shelby Soltesz, Stephanie Madden and Michelle Madden; and several great- great- nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at 10 a. m. directly at Most Holy Trinity Church, 84, N. Colony St., Wallingford. Committal services will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery in Stratford at approximately 11: 30 a. m. COVID precautions will be followed and masks required at all services.
