-

Janette L ( Thibodeau) Kennedy, age 54, of Derby, passed away surrounded by her loving family on December 29, 2020. She was born into a large loving Catholic family ( 7th of 10 children) in Bridgeport and was a lifelong area resident. Jan will always be remembered for her vibrant personality, contagious smile, and her love for life and nature. As a manager of L’Occitane en Provence for several years and a lifetime esthetician, she captivated others with her passion and lived to spread joy to her customers and family alike. Jan was strong, independent, free spirited, and endlessly devoted to her loved ones. Family camping trips, spontaneous outings, and country music were her favorite pastimes. Jan could always be found basking on the beach, laying out by the pool, or taking a ride on a Harley. She was a true friend to animals, notably to the dogs she rescued over the years. Above all else, Jan was a loving and courageous single mother to her only son, Shane, who she cherished dearly, an inspirational aunt to many, an ever- present sister, and a committed partner to Frank Delbouno. She will forever live in our hearts.

She is survived by her loving mother, Rose Thibodeau; her son, Shane Thibodeau and his partner Gianna Gerrity; her siblings, Richard and his wife Pat of Bridgeport, Cindy Lula and her husband Adam of Milford,

She was predeceased by her father Richard; and a brother Matthew. At the request of the family, due to the current health pandemic, there are no calling hours.
