Kay was born in Bridgeport on March 13, 1934, to the late John and Theresa ( Jackson) Rogers. She was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1953. After graduating high school, Kay went on to work for John Hancock Insurance and years later she joined her husband Otto in the opening of Ottavio’s Catering, where she was the bookkeeper for their family business. She loved line and ballroom dancing, singing around the house and visits to the casino, but her favorite time was any time she spent with her children and grandchildren!

Her memory will be embraced by her entire family including her husband of 59 ½ years, Otto Veglio, her daughter, Terri De Monte and husband John, her son and best friend, Ottavio Veglio ( Grace Bissenden), her grandchildren; Peter De Monte ( Erica Tranquillo), Danielle De Monte and her fiancé Luis Davila. Kay was also fortunate to have many nieces, nephews, and friends, along with her children and grandchildren’s friends who affectionately called her “Ma” or “Nana Kay.” She is also survived by her best friend since kindergarten, whose friendship she cherished more than anything, Joanne Yacovielle, her two sisters- in- law; Maryann Rogers, and Lillian Torricelli, and the one who was always there to keep her looking beautiful and was like another daughter to her, Gina Aprile DiStassio. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings; John ( Roach), Hillary ( Buddy), William ( Boo), Robert ( Bobby)

Rogers, Eleanor ( Sissy) Currier, Mary Huresky and Theresa ( Joan) Ezepchick.
