Vito D’Aiuto, Jr., age 91 of Shelton passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Nancy ( Grillo) D’Aiuto. Born in Bridgeport on June 10, 1929, he was a son of the late Vito and Rose ( Antonelli) D’ Aiuto, Sr. Vito graduated in 1956 from the University of Connecticu­t School of Pharmaceut­ical before beginning his career at Bridgeport Hospital as a pharmacist with over 40 years of dedicated service. It was at Bridgeport Hospital that Vito met his future wife Nancy, who had been working as an EKG Technician. Between Vito and his wife, they have accumulate­d nearly 100 years of faithful service and care to Bridgeport Hospital and the community. A loving husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother, friend and neighbor, he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his beloved son, Vito D’Aiuto, III of Shelton, his grandsons, Joseph Wierzbicki of Stratford and Lt. Trenton M. D’Aiuto, U. S. Navy and his wife Lauren of FL. In addition to his wife Nancy, he was also predecease­d by his daughter, Lisa Rose Wierzbicki and her husband Mark and his brothers, Dr. Michael L. D’Aiuto and Anthony D’Aiuto.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside committal service on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 1: 30 p. m. in Section 9 of St. Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford. Face masks are required and social distancing will be expected at all times. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons through the funeral home may be made to establish an education fund for Vito’s grandson Joseph.
