Lois Meri Burritt, age 83, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Arthur L. Burritt, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2021 at Bridgeport Hospital with family at her side and in her heart. Lois was born in Bridgeport on September 5, 1937 to the late Alma ( Pjura) and Frank X. Barvenik and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Stratford High School class of 1955. Lois was active in the community throughout her life giving back to all as a volunteer scout leader, an avid supporter of Sterling House Community Center, Catholic Daughters, along with many other causes. Throughout her life Lois gave her time and love to all that needed her and was always the friend that you wanted to have. She will be dearly missed by many. Survivors include her devoted children, Arthur Burritt and his wife Peg of Pennsylvan­ia, Susan Santillo and her husband Mark of New Hampshire, and Melissa Pinto and her husband Chris of Stratford, 11 cherished grandchild­ren, Arthur ( Natasha), Christophe­r ( Valerie), Gregory ( Cara), Eric ( Kim), Matthew, Christophe­r ( Jillian), Danielle, Kris, Alex, Elizabeth, and Cathlyn, 6 great- grandchild­ren, Isabella, Arthur Jr., Annabelle, Lillian, Emily and Savannah, a brother Frank Barvenik Jr., and his wife Trina, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear and treasured friends. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Lois was predecease­d by her daughter- in- law Penny ( Simko) Burritt. Due to the current health situation the family has elected to have a private service. Virtual attendees will be welcome, please contact susan. santillo@ gmail. com for details. Additional­ly, the family looks forward to celebratin­g Lois’s life with all of her friends and family when it no longer poses a health risk.
