Lorraine Chisholm Lounsbury, beloved wife of the late John T. Lounsbury, Jr. passed away peacefully at her home in Stratford on February 27, 2021. She was born in Waterbury to the late Henrietta and Albert Chisholm and raised in Seymour. She graduated from Seymour High School where she was a member of the drum corps and she attended Stone Business College in New Haven. Lorraine met and married her husband in Seymour. Together they created a life for themselves and their four children in Stratford and later in Trumbull. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Stratford for over 60 years where she once served as church secretary and was a member of the choir. Lorraine was an active member of her community. She was a past president of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce Wives of Stratford and she served on the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurses of Stratford, the Red Cross of Stratford and Tide Harbor Condominiu­ms. For years, she was a volunteer at Bridgeport Hospital, during which time she was honored as a volunteer of the year. She was a realtor in Fairfield County for many years and she was a past president and Board member of the Greater Bridgeport Board of Realtors. Lorraine walked through life with an open heart and met each day with humor and love. She was an avid reader, talented painter and baker. She loved a good parade! Lorraine was predecease­d by her husband John Lounsbury, Jr, and her son Alan Lounsbury. She is survived by her daughter Holly Fichtel of Stratford, son John Lounsbury III of Plainville, daughter Susan Ludovico and son- in- law John Ludovico of Lake Placid, NY; six grandchild­ren: Susan ( Fichtel) Milesky, John Lounsbury IV, Matthew Lounsbury, Sarah Lounsbury, Michael Lounsbury, Alan Lounsbury, Jr; and seven great- grandchild­ren.
