Linda Topar

June 27, 1956 - March 6, 2021 The word humble is defined as freedom from pride or arrogance; having or showing a modest estimate of one’s own importance. A lifelong resident of Fairfield, Linda Topar was innovative, educated, hard- working, independent, practical ( at times to a fault), easy to laugh, and kind- hearted... and she would never say any of these things about herself. To many of her friends and family, Linda was always a bit of an enigma. We could simply say she was eccentric and unconventional, however there was so much more to her character.

Linda was, in no uncertain terms, and by truest of definition, humble. She was quiet, self- effacing and entirely unencumbered by any desire to burden anyone or call attention to herself. She was a private person who loved her family and her pets, enjoyed her own company and was delighted to wander the road less traveled. She lived life on her own terms, and rarely asked for help from anyone. Linda typically figured it out herself, or did without it. However, if you asked Linda for her last dollar, she would probably give it to you. If you needed shelter, she would likely open her door to you. If you were hungry, she would undoubtedly share her food with you. She didn’t ask why; she didn’t expect anything in return and she didn’t judge. Her heart was as pure as her intentions.

Linda enjoyed simple pleasures and was happiest at home, tending to her garden or spoiling her beloved furry and feathered friends. She will be deeply missed by those of us who will forever celebrate her quirks and her meek tee- heehee’s.

Linda is predeceased by her father, Stanley H. Topar, her two brothers, Bradley and Gary Topar, and her sister, Tina Salvaggio. She leaves behind her loving mother, Margaret Salvaggio of Fairfield; her brother, Stanley W. Topar and his wife, June, of Fairfield; her sister, Michele Toth of Fairfield; her brother, Darren A. Topar and his wife, Catherine, of Fairfield; her sister, Toni Ann ( Salvaggio) Rotondo, and her husband, Christopher, of Redding and her brother, John Michael Krochko of Fairfield.

Aunt Linda will be fondly remembered by her nieces, Sarah Topar and Molly Rotondo, and by her nephews, Bradley Topar along with his wife Gabriel and grand- nephew Oliver, Cooper Rotondo and especially by her two Godsons, Christopher Rotondo and Michael Stanley Toth.

Services will be privately held by Linda’s family.
