Evelyn M. Swanson Ducharme, age 83, of Fairfield, beloved wife of Kenneth Ducharme, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021. Born and raised in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Elmer and Harriet Bower Swanson, Evelyn had been a Fairfield Town resident for most of her life. She had worked as an analyst for Sikorsky Aircraft for over 30 years until she retired to spend time with her granddaugh­ter. Evelyn was a longtime and very active member of the Catholic War Veterans, Raymond J. Bower Post 1466 Ladies Auxiliary, named after her uncle. She was a basketball enthusiast, coaching the Holy Family School girls’ basketball team for many years and was an avid fan of the UCONN Women’s Basketball team, holding season tickets for home games which was the “girls night out” with her daughter, Robin, and granddaugh­ter, Brianna. Evelyn will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmothe­r and will be greatly missed. In addition to her husband of 40 years, Evelyn leaves behind her son, Louis A. Toth, of Fairfield; a daughter, Robin Toth, and her partner, Thomas Carroll, of Stratford; her precious granddaugh­ter, Brianna Carroll; brothers, James Swanson, and his wife, Sandra, of West Haven and Edward Swanson, of Shelton; as well as several nieces and nephews. She rejoins her daughter, Deborah Lynn Toth, in Heaven and was also predecease­d by her sisters, Elizabeth Crowell, Elaine Swanson, and Patricia Malinowski. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9: 00 a. m. directly at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield with burial to follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
