Dolores DeGennaro Rose, 88 of Oxford, died on October 6, 2022 in Derby, CT. Dolores was born April, 15, 1934 in Corona Long Island, New York to her parents William and Isabelle Jacowleff. Dolores graduated with honors at 16 years of age, from James Monroe High School, Bronx, New York. She attended Stone School of Business and Sacred Heart University. She had a long and successful career as an executive secretary and administra­tive assistant at Frigitroni­cs, Inc. in Shelton, CT and later Pullman and Comley Law Firm in Bridgeport, CT where she retired. She discovered a talent for painting after retirement and became an award winning artist and art teacher. Her work has hung at numerous art shows and museums. She was an accomplish­ed and published author and has written many books. Dolores loved gardening, being outdoors with her hummingbir­ds and traveling, especially to Aruba and Florida. She was predecease­d by the love of her life, Raymond J. Rose, in January of 2018. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Gilloren, who was always there for her. Dolores is also survived by her children, who gave her a full, laugh filled life, Richard, Jack, Dana (Corrine), and Virginia DeGennaro. Her grandchild­ren Stephan, Timothy, Samantha, Stephanie DeGennaro and Dana Perkins. Also surviving is her stepchild Vanessa Harding and very special son-in-law, Jack Harding; step-grandchild­ren Samual, Raymond, Mary Harding and Maxwell Kaempher. She was predecease­d by her son Stephan; brother William Jacowleff; daughter-in-law Robin; and stepdaught­er Lydia Rose Kaempher. She is also survived by her very good longtime friends Fran Jacowleff, Joyce Benson, and Barbara Dixon. There will be no formal services at this time per Dolores’ request. A celebratio­n of her life will be held Spring of 2023.
