Clarence Joseph Leger “Chuck,” age 89, of Shelton, formerly of Fairfield, beloved husband of 58 years of the late Catherine “Kay” Leger, passed away October 14, 2022 with his family by his side. Born in West Brookfield, MA to Alyre and Harriet Leger, he grew up in Massachuse­tts. Chuck was a proud Marine serving in the Korean Conflict and was a retired truck driver from Valleries Transporta­tion. A devoted Catholic, he was a parishione­r at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, Shelton and for years at Holy Family Church, Fairfield. Chuck was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfathe­r, great-grandfathe­r, brother, and uncle who delighted in time spent with his family and friends, especially enjoying good food. He and his late wife loved travelling the country in their RV. Survivors include two beloved daughters, Karen Anginoli and her husband Rich of Fairfield and Janice Szabo and her husband Fritz of Newtown; 7 loving grandchild­ren, Jessica Mazzone and her husband Kris, Krystin Wilson and her husband Al, Amy Fitzpatric­k and her husband Kevin, Andrea Szabo and her husband Matthew, Shannon Busko and her fiancé Matthew, Nicholas Szabo and his fiancée Amy, and Lyndi Szabo; great-grandchild­ren Graham and Ford Wilson, Ava and Madison Mazzone, Annabelle and Margaret Fitzpatric­k, and Casey Szabo; two step-grandchild­ren, Bree Segneri and her husband Rich, Audrey Limbert and her husband Ben; and four step-greatgrand­children, Reed and Wes Segneri, Andrew Kunz and Ayla Limbert, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his loving wife, Catherine; loving daughter, Denise Leger Busko; cherished grandson Jason Albarelli; sisters, Grace St. Martin, Alice Fredette and a brother Raymond Leger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Wednesday, October 19, 2022, meeting directly at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Rd., Fairfield. Interment with military honors will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
