Gregory Jozsef Gereben, age 58, life-long resident of Fairfield, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Connecticu­t Hospice in Branford on September 24, 2023. Born to Beáta and Geyza Gereben on March 6, 1965, Greg grew up in Southport, attending Mill Hill School and Roger Ludlowe High School, where he created lifelong friendship­s that saw him through to the quiet end. Best known for his outgoing “gregarious” personalit­y and Santa-like laugh, Greg brought a smile to even the most solemn of faces. Greg had the ability to tell stories in a way that transporte­d you right into the scene even if you were never a part of the plot. Greg was a seasoned automotive mechanic and salesman, with a vast and loyal client base. Greg worked in various garages, including the Wiz in Milford, and owned his own shops; Auto Services in Fairfield and Worldwide Auto Works in Bridgeport. Greg loved to ride motorcycle­s, spend time shooting at the range, and was always willing to attempt to bowl a perfect 300 at Nutmeg Bowl, especially

Edward R. McQuillan, age 62, of San Diego, California, formerly of Stratford, passed away on September 2, 2023. Eddie was born in Bridgeport on May 20, 1961, to the late Robert and Judith McQuillan and had been a long-time area resident, prior to moving to San Diego for work. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1979 and he was an Engineerin­g graduate of the University of Connecticu­t, class of 1984. He was able to indulge his love of traveling, working as a chief engineer at Safran Power Units, headquarte­red in France. He competed in Iron Man triathlons, and he loved his trips to Paris, Egypt, Iceland, Prague, Austria, Rome, and many more places around the world. Survivors include his brothers, Kevin McQuillan and his wife Linda of Milford, and Michael McQuillan and his wife Carol of Virginia, 4 cherished nieces, Abigail, Riley, Caileigh, and Lillian, and beloved cousin Nancy Peterson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7th at with his children. Despite his seemingly rugged exterior, Greg had a true affinity for his childhood hobby of collecting HO scale model trains, further embodying his boyish heart. Greg is survived by his sons, Grant and Greyson Gereben; the children of his late partner Marie Baroud, Gabrielle and Mitchell Head, who he treated as his own; his sister Julia Johnson and her husband Kent of Milford; and nephews Stefan and Nicholas Johnson. Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his life partner, Marie Baroud.

Greg will be cremated and interred in a private ceremony. A Celebratio­n of Life gathering will be announced at a future date. 10 a.m. meeting directly at Our Lady of Peace Church in Lordship.
