Viola LaRovera, age 96, entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, September 17, 2018, at Griffin Hospital, following a short illness. Miss LaRovera was born at home in Ansonia on August 4, 1922, daughter of the late Carlo and Antoinette Mammarelli LaRovera. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed at B.F. Goodrich and later as a secretary at the former B.F.I. in Shelton. She is survived by a loving sister, Grace LaRovera of Ansonia. Although never having children, she treated her nieces and nephews like her own, including, Genevieve Kozak, Michael D’Alessio (Elaine), Anthony D’Alessio Jr. (Gayle), Carl LaRovera (Cathy), John LaRovera Jr. (Maryann) all of Ansonia, William LaRovera Jr. (Jean) of FL and especially Suzanne LaRovera of Ansonia, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by brothers, William LaRovera Sr. and John LaRovera Sr., a sister, Esther D’Alessio, sisters-in-law, Josephine LaRovera and Evelyn LaRovera and a nephew, Carl J. D’Alessio. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday September 20, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of the SPINELLIRI­CCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, her funeral will begin at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia. Interment will immediatel­y follow in Mt.
