Kathryn was the Chief Operating Officer and President of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation New York Office. She joined Stavros Niarchos Group in 1985 after seven years of prior shipping experience at Polaris Marine Agency. In 2004, when the shipping operations were dissolved, she joined the Stavros Niarchos Foundation where she held various administrative positions in operations and upper-level management. Collectively, she had been with the company for over 30 years, and built remarkable relationships with her work colleagues, which she considered to be family.

An incredible host and entertainer, Kathryn had a tremendous passion for cooking and feeding those she loved. She enjoyed traveling to beautiful places and sunbathing on white sand beaches. Most notable for Kathryn was her dedication to and love for her family and dear friends. Anyone who knew Kathryn immediately fell in love with her infectious personality, smile, and joy filled spirit. Her impact on others was significant. She truly embodied the word “selflessness” as she always put others first. Her philanthropic work at the Foundation spoke volumes of the kind of person that she was and of her commitment to “filotimo”, a Greek term meaning “Love of Honor”. Her unfaltering strength, passion for people, and commitment to her family and friends are aspects of her character that will never be forgotten. She truly was one of a kind, and will be missed by so many people.
