Barbara Yurkon Fe­bish

Barbara Yurkon Fe­bish, age 82, of Bridge­port, CT, wife of the late Ray­mond R. Fe­bish, passed away peace­fully on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 7, 2018 with her lov­ing fam­ily by her side. Born in West Wy­oming, PA on Au­gust 14, 1936, daugh­ter of the late Stan­ley and Eleanor Zdro­jeski Yurkon. Barbara was a grad­u­ate of Swoy­ersville High School, Class of 1954. Af­ter her mar­riage in 1964, she moved from Swoy­ersville to Bridge­port, where she lived for 54 years through­out which time she was a parish­ioner of the As­sump­tion Church of Fair­field. Mrs. Fe­bish spent her time rais­ing her two daugh­ters as well as run­ning her own busi­ness as a book­keeper. In ad­di­tion, she was a tax pre­parer at H&R Block for al­most 40 years. Barbara was an avid reader and could be seen with a book in her hand and a cup of tea by her side al­most ev­ery evening. She was very creative in many ar­eas, in­clud­ing paint­ing, ce­ram­ics and sewing. She made count­less Hal­loween and dance cos­tumes, as well as fam­ily heir­looms such as Chris­ten­ing gowns, wed­ding dresses and veils which have been passed down over the years across the fam­ily. She is sur­vived by her daugh­ters, Karen Fe­bish Jones and her hus­band Clif­ford of Fair­field and grand­sons Ridge and Spencer and Su­sanne Fe­bish Ulmer and her hus­band Charles of Rye, NY and grand­daugh­ters Katelin, Kel­lie and Kourt­ney. Barbara also leaves be­hind her sis­ter Sylvia Malak and her hus­band Paul of Shaver­town, PA, her brother Stan­ley Yurkon Jr. and his wife Joanne of Beau­fort, SC as well as neph­ews Paul John Malak, Jef­frey John Malak, Michael Yurkon, and niece Paulette Yurkon Hall and their fam­i­lies. Fu­neral ser­vices will be held on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 15 at 10:15 a.m. in the Lesko & Polke Fu­neral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fair­field Cen­ter and at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the As­sump­tion Church, Strat­field Rd., Fair­field with en­tomb­ment to fol­low in Mt.
