2020 Ford Edge Titanium Review

- By Jerry Reynolds

is week I bring you one of the most popular S s sold in America, the 2020 Ford Edge Titanium, which is the top-ofthe-line before you get to ST, the performance version of Edge that I reviewed last year.

Powertrain

Star ting under the hood, you’ll nd a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Ecoboost, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Together they produce 250-horses and 280-pound feet of torque. My review vehicle is front-wheel dr ive, but you can get it in all-wheel dr ive as well if you prefer.

Exterior

My Star White Edge Titanium has shar p, distinct lines, with LED fog lights, ver y attractive 20 wheels, a rear spoiler, and dual e haust completes the elegant and attractive e ter ior look s.

Interior

On the inside is a roomy but somewhat subdued inter ior that has good leg and headroom for ve adults with a lot of cargo area in the back .

e seats are slightly bolstered and ver y comfor table. ere is a large speedometer in the center of the gauge cluster and to both the le and r ight of that you can con gure a lot of information to your liking from the steer ing wheel.

You’ll nd light stitching on the door panels with an o set color in the middle. ere is a nice console with a round shi knob, two lit cup holders, the electronic emergency brake, parking sensors, automatic parallel parking , and thankfully, a switch to turn o the star t/stop system.

For ward from the shi knob is a covered storage area with a built-in phone charger.

Above that is the 8 SYNC 3 infotainment system that is really easy to operate by touch. ere you control audio, climate, Bluetooth, navigation system, apps, and settings.

You can also operate Apple Carplay and Android auto, 4 Wi-Fi hotspot, and Travelink for real-time tra c, fuel pr ices, weather, movie listings, spor ts scores, and even ski conditions.

Standard Equipment and Options

e Edge Titanium comes well equipped with standard features like leather seats, rear view camera with a washer, 12-speaker B O sound, power hands-free tailgate, blind spot warning , lane keep assist , 10-way power seats, and remote star t.

Back seat leg and head room are good, and you can lower the back seats from the rear of the Edge with the push of a button, but they have to be raised manually. Rear occupants have air vents and SB por ts.

is par ticular Edge has the 301A package for $4,150 and includes evasive steer ing assist, voice activated touch screen, adaptive cr uise control, heated rear seats, cooled front seats, and a huge panoramic vista roof.

Ride and Drive

Edge Titanium is a ver y comfor table S for 5 passengers, it has a lot of cargo room in the rear, and is ver y quiet inside. Acceleration from the 2-liter is sur pr isingly good and should be plenty even for those of us with a heavy r ight foot.

What You’ll Pay

Total sticker pr ice on my tester is $45, 85 and Ford continues to keep the incentives ver y aggressive on this vehicle. Fuel economy is ver y good for an S at 21 city, 29 highway, and 24 overall.

Overall, this is a ver y nice 5-passenger S , reliability through the years has been e tremely good, and a er incentives, it is one of the better values out there.
