Barbara S. Miller

-

Barbara Diane Saltzman Miller was born on December 13, 1939. She was predeceased by her parents, Estaire and Max Saltzman and her brother, Arthur Saltzman. Barbara grew up in Paterson, NJ and she was a very popular young woman. Barbara had many friends, far too numerous to mention, but she had dear friends for her entire life. Barbara’s zest for life was something to behold. Barbara married Larry Miller on August 11, 1963, and together, they were quite a team! Barbara and Larry were both very active in the Stamford community. They celebrated holidays with their beloved family and were very active in various charities and groups. Barbara served on the boards of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Cancer Care, Hadassah, JCC Center Women and her beloved community at Congregation Agudath Shalom Synagogue. Barbara was President of Sisterhood, volunteered at Bingo, and served the homeless at Pacific House in Stamford for Christmas day lunch. Barbara worked as a clerk in the Stamford Superior Court house for many years and played softball for the staff’s Harmless Errors. Barbara loved the holidays and enjoyed hosting her extended family during Passover and High Holiday meals. Chanukah was her favorite holiday as she gave 8 gifts to each of her sons when they were growing up and her 5 “delicious” grandchildren as well. Barbara was also a big sports fan, Giants were her #1 and the Mets were a close #2. Barbara’s life was full and she loved attending her son’s and grandchildren’s’ sporting events and concerts. She doted on her grandchildren. Our mother will be sorely missed.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Larry. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Karen) of Weston, Jeffrey (Kelley) of Trumbull and Russell (Cathy) of Norwalk along with her grandchildren, Daniel, David, Marissa, Rachel and Tyler.
